He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Edward Cassady, Sr. and Kathleen Hayden Cassady; his wife Dorothy Ann Gainey; and his siblings, Johnny Cassady, Steve Cassady and Dianne Newsome.

He is survived by: his son Thomas Edward "Tommy" Cassady, III; and his stepsons, Gene Barefoot and Stay Barefoot (Amy).
