He is survived by: his wife Karen L. Montoya; his stepson Kenneth R. Garner (Emily) of Evanston, Wyoming; his daughters, Eva Montoya (Keith) of Conway, SC, Shannon Pope (Bobby) of Ft. Wayne and Christine Swabb of Crestview, Florida; his siblings, Mark Schermerhorn (Jawanda) of Columbia, SC, Donald Schermerhorn (Linda) of Sumter, SC and Dawn Taggard (Andy); his nieces and nephews, Jessica, Nate, Kyle, Brock, Drew and Laurn; and his grandchildren, Aiden Simons and Alayna Todd.
