He is survived by: his children, Matthew Brooks Shumake and Mary Paige Byrd; his sister Patsy Jordan; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Thomas (Daniel Jordan), Madison Byrd (Shaina) and Nicklaus Shumake (Kaitlyn); his great grandchild Lollah Thomas; his grandchildren, James Thomas, Carson Mae Thomas, Cal Jordan, Ada Claire Jordan, Joah Byrd, Andie Brooke Byrd, Charlie Ann Byrd, Emersyn Anne Shumake, Elise Gaines and Ricky Gaines; and his siblings-in-law, Ernie Bell and Beverly Bell.
