He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Adam Edwards and Vera Helen Edwards; his former wives, Jutta Edwards and Margaret Edwards; and his siblings, Virginia Davis, Miriam Houck, Doris Marquis, Charles Edwards, Rutherford Edwards and Naomi Edwards.
He is survived by: his wife Tina Freeman Edwards of Cheraw, S. C.; his children, Deanna Gainey (Carroll) and Robert Edwards (Christina); his grandchildren, Joshua Gainey (Ashley), Justin Gainey (Chelsea), Stephanie Price (Koty), Myrtle Beach and Patrick Edwards (Katie) of Monroe, N. C.; and his great grandchildren, Kendall Gainey and Henry Price.
