She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Edwards and Frances Edwards; and her son Jay McCarter. She is survived by: her husband Johnny McCarter, Sr.; her children, April Tyner (Johnny) and Nick McCarter; her grandchildren, Brandon Tyner (Amanda), Shannon Thompson (Kenny) and Jennifer Thompson (Sean); her great grandchildren, Rylynn, Luke, Elliot, Mary Carter and Riker; and her sisters, Brenda Whitworth and Betty Shelnutt.
A funeral service was held on Friday, November 22nd 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Woodlawn Memorial Park (1 Pine Knoll Dr, Greenville, SC 29609).
