He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles W. Smith and Jennie Neelands Smith; his former wife Margaret Horne Smith; and his brothers, William Smith (Billy) and Daniel Smith (Dan).
He is survived by: his wife Judy Doby Murphy Smith of Great Falls, SC; his children, Charles F. Smith (Chuck) of Edgemoor, SC, Jeffrey B. Smith (Jeff) of Edgemoor, SC, Amy E. Smith (Jabo) of Edgemoor and Jennifer A. Smith (Ginger); and his siblings, Ronnie Smith of Rock Hill, SC and Sarah Quinn (Doug) of Goose Creek, SC. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephew.
