He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Kimberly Dawn Cooley Black; his parents, William Ray and Gawendolyn Joy Alexander Black; his sons, Forrest Alexander Black (Stephanie) of Gray Court, Ethan Hamilton Black of Woodruff and Collin Graham Black (Mary Kate) of Simpsonville; his siblings, William Ray Black Jr. (Kyong Mi) of Woodruff, Joan Black Wilkie (Lanny) of West Union and Marie Black Davis (Tony) of Cross Anchor; and his grandson Grayson Alexander Black.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Bramlett UMC – 2160 Branlett Church Road – Gray Court, SC 29645 - in care of the Alex Black Memorial Fund for Scout Troops.
