It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Wyman Monts of Gaston, South Carolina, born in Prosperity, South Carolina, who passed away on August 5, 2021, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, George Cecil Monts and Frances Laura Long Monts; and his brother George M. Monts. He is survived by: his wife Anita Brayboy Monts; his children, Shannon Dewayne Monts (Anita) of New Jersey, Desirae M. Holman (Bill) of Cameron, SC, Jamie E. Perkins (Allen) of Florida and John Paul Monts (Rachel) of Lexington; his stepson Brock D. Brayboy (Virginia) of North Carolina; and his siblings, Connie M. Doberass of West Columbia and Don Monts of Columbia. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren.
