She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Laird and Lorene Laird; her husband Stuart "Milton" Smith; and her siblings, Marvin Laird (Effie), Irby Laird, Lois Furtick and Linda Laird.
She is survived by: her children, Donna Estep (Danny) and Ronald Smith (Sissy) of Gaston; her grandsons, Jeffrey Barfield (Jennifer), Matt Barfield (Eden), Stuart Smith (Gracie) and Brent Smith (Kaycie); her great grandchildren, Hayley, Colton Barfield, Ethan, Sarah Smith, Josie, Mila Barfield, Dodge and Addalynn Smith; and her sisters, Pearl Spires and Patsy Norris.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Gaston.
