He was predeceased by: his wife Doris Jean Dellinger Pettit; and his parents, Henry Frankin Pettit and Carrie Littlefield Pettit. He is survived by: his stepchildren, Ronald Pennington (Phyllis) of Easley and Susan Ellis of Gaffney; his siblings, Joseph Ronald Pettit (Joyce) of Spartanburg, Shirley Smith of Spartanburg and Linda Brunson (Joe) of Taylors; his grandchildren, Preston Ellis, Barrett Ellis (Lana), Heather Reynolds, Ryan Harvey (Kristy) and Kristy Ramsey (Ernie); his great grandchildren, Morgan Wilson (Billy), Ashley Ramsey, Taylor Ellis and Luke Harvey; and his great great grandchild Miller.
