He was predeceased by: his parents, Finney H. Blanton and Mary Willue Coker Blanton; his son Chucky Ray Blanton; and his sister Diane Duffie. He is survived by: his wife Joann Hamby Blanton; his children, Jeffrey Dean Blanton of Gaffney, Timothy Dwayne "Red" Blanton of Gaffney and Robin Lynn Swayngim (Raymond) of Gaffney; his grandchildren, Casey Painter, Sarah Jo Coleman (Kevin), Nick Blanton, Jimmy Blanton, Matthew Wicks, Josh Wicks (Ceara) and Dylan Blanton; and his great grandchildren, Braylee, Elijah, Karabella and Nash.
