She was predeceased by: her spouse J. P. Short; her parents, Joseph Monroe Pennington and Sally White Dillingham Pennington; her son David Glenn Short; her siblings, Amon Pennington, Lucille Thompson, Freddie D. Tomlison and Deliah D. Rice; her granddaughters, Candice Marie Griffin and Hannah Short Mullinax; her grandchildren-in-law, Gina Edwards Blanton and Michael Lee Garcia; and her pet Buttons.
She is survived by: her children, Kenny Wayne Short (Elaine) of Gaffney and Delores S. Blanton (Raymond) of Gaffney; her grandchildren, Chrystal Short, Kasey Short Fowler (Hunter), Eric G. Blanton (Courtney) and Rae B. Garcia; her great grandchildren, E. J. Blanton, Mallory Garcia, Grace Ross, Katherine Short, John Langston Short, Joshua Griffin of Clay Griffin, M. B, Cayla Cumbus, Sophia Mullinax, Luke Fowler and Haisley Fowler; her daughter-in-law Barbara Hyatt Short of Gaffney; and her sister Doris P. Bright of Gaffney. She is also survived by five great-great-grandchildren.
