We are sad to announce that on October 1, 2023, at the age of 94, Drayton Painter Jr. of Gaffney, South Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Doris Humphries Painter; his stepparent Drayton A. Painter, Sr.; his wife Nell Gilfillan Painter; his son-in-law Mike Guthrie; and his brother Bobby D. Painter.
He is survived by: his children, Mike Painter (Maria) of Gaffney, Barbara Guthrie of Gaffney, Joy Jones (Dennis) of Gaffney and Cindy Poole (Eddis) of Gaffney; his grandchildren, Michael L. Guthrie, Jr., Jeanne G. Pearson (Rick), Erica J. McDowell (Daniel), Reverend Clay Jones (Mallory), Mikey Painter, Joey Poole (Nicole) and Hunter Poole (Emily); his great grandchildren, Jake Pearson (Becca), Luke Pearson, Andrew Pearson, Hannah Guthrie, Will Guthrie, Ben Guthrie, Emersyn McDowell, Brayden McDowell, Sawyer McDowell, Camdyn McDowell, Thomas Jones and Aurora Poole; and his great great grandchildren, Jack Pearson and Maggie Pearson. He is also survived by Father, his family, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
