He was predeceased by: his parents, Foster Thomas Ervin and Ruth Waldrop Ervin; and his brothers, Alfred Ervin and Chris Ervin. He is survived by: his children, Brandon Ervin (Erin), James Ervin (Michelle) and Cayce Martin; his siblings, Jack Ervin, Phillip "PJ" Ervin (Vickie) and Charlotte Ervin Fuller (Odis); his sister-in-law Debbie Ervin; and his grandchildren, Morgana, Bryson and Jaxon. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
