He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Smith and Ernestine Blewer Rhode; and his brother Danny Rhode. He is survived by: his sister Connie Rhode Serra; his nieces and nephews, Heather Taylor (Matthew), Teresa McCormick (Jonathan), Michael Serra and Joseph Rhode; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Claudia Taylor, Riley McCormick, Keegan Taylor and Darby McCormick; and his sister-in-law Karen Rhode.
