He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin L. Coker, Sr. and Mazellee Hutchinson Coker; and his brother Charles Wallace. He is survived by: his wife Veda Inez Aldrich Coker; his children, Brenda S. Coker, Theresa E. Coker and Michael E. Coker; and his grandsons, Benjamin M. "Ben" Coker and Austin H. Coker.
