He was predeceased by: his wife Jacqueline Virly Cantrell; his parents, Joseph Cantrell and Cloris Armittie Mills Cantrell; his former wife Doris Allen; and his brother Virgil Cantrell.
He is survived by: his children, Carl Cantrell of Columbia, Mike Cantrell (Connie) of Simpsonville, Jim Cantrell (Leslie) of Decatur, GA and Sherry Maddox (Don) of Fountain Inn; and his siblings, Leland Cantrell (Joyce) of Greensboro, NC, Roy Cantrell of High Point, NC, Roland Cantrell (Janice) of Boiling Springs and Betty Jo Morris (James) of Inman. He is also survived by four grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
