She was predeceased by: her parents, William Luther Thompson, Sr. and Lizzie Aliene Martin Thompson; her siblings, William Luther Thompson, Jr., Edith Thompson Williamson and Mary Loil Thompson Honeycutt; and her granddaughter Kristen Elaine Stumbo.
She is survived by: her husband James "Jim" Lester Horne; her children, Deborah H. Stumbo (Cliff) of Greenwood, SC, Bonnilyn H. Parker (Floyd) of Greenville, SC, Jennifer "Jeni" H. Dover (Chris) of Easley, SC, James L. Horne, Jr. (Lynn) of Goodlettsville, TN and David T. Horne of Warm Springs, VA; and her sisters, Dorothy "Dot" T. Ward of Whiteville, NC and Opal Thompson Pope of Mechanicsville, VA. She is also survived by 47 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews.
