She was predeceased by: her parents, Rosa Belle Greene and John Thomas Whetsell of Dorchester; her husband Marion Hickman Smith; and her siblings, Adelaide, Eleanor, Alice, Isabelle, Carolyn of Dorothy, TC, Jackie, Donnell and Hugo.
She is survived by: her children, Miriam Smith Birdsong (Jamie) of Summerville and Marion Albert "Al" Smith (Linda) of Dorchester; and her grandchildren, Jake Birdsong (Stephanie), Hannah Birdsong of Summerville, Courtney Smoak (Jamie) of Pomaria and John Curtis Stroble (Jessica) of Hollywood. She is also survived by her 6 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Limestone Baptist Church Senior Lunch Ministry.
