He was predeceased by: his parents, John Albert Burch, Sr. and Clifford McAbee Burch; his siblings, Joyce Berryhill, Delores Hoyle (Thomas) and Joe Burch; and his son John A. Burch, III.

He is survived by: his wife Lavena Martin Burch; his brother Gene Burch (Sherry); his daughter Heather Chapman; his daughter-in-law Katie Burch; his stepsons, Mike (April), Josh (Melissa) and Tim (Michelle); his grandchildren, Brandon, Benjamin, Billy, Jacob, Brittany, Nathan, Ashton, Darian and Tammy Hass; his children, Gene Burch, Jr. and Kim Bower (Kenny); his brother Buck Trimmell; and his son Buck Jr..

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to, Westview Baptist Church.
