He was predeceased by: his parents, Osceola Gilbert (Adams) and John Robert Gilbert; and his son David Gilbert. He is survived by: his daughter Sharon Shaw (Terry) of Chesnee, SC; his grandchildren, Brittany DeClue (Anthony) of Charleston, SC and Hunter Shaw (Christin Kuhn); and his great grandchild Aiden DeClue.
Burial will be in Good Shepherd Memorial Park in Boiling Springs, SC In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice, 120 Heywood Ave, Suite 300, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
