He was predeceased by: his parents, Plato Reed and Annie Swann; his siblings, Peggy Floyd and Johnny Swann; and his grandmother Hattie Gosnell.
He is survived by: his wife Catherine Lynne Motts Rhinehart; his stepmother Ruth Reed; his daughters, Angela Rhinehart Morris (Revie), Tammy Kuykendall (Dave Otis) and Michelle Quinn (Michael); his stepdaughters, Sherry Willett (Marc) and Amy Shaw (Monty); and his siblings, Fran Gowan, Roger Rhinehart, Nancy Wilson, Tina Byrd, Carol Fowler, Darrell Reed and Keith Reed. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
