With profound sadness, we say goodbye to William Short of Charleston, South Carolina, born in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. William left this world on May 7, 2024 at the age of 53, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his brother Philip Alexander Short; and his father Earl DeGrey Short, Jr. (Billy). He is survived by: his children, Anna DeGrey Short and William Radcliff Short of Charleston, SC; his mother Martha Rossiter Short; his siblings, Earl DeGrey Short III and Cate Short Frederick; his nephews, Jonathan Alexander Frederick and Benjamin Brinkley Frederick; and his close friend David Richards. He is also survived by many loving cousins, uncles, and aunts; and countless friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Billy's name to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the United States Marine Corps Association, and the Charleston Horticultural Society.
