He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore J Counas and Lucille Ellen Counas. He is survived by: his wife Ann S. Counas; his children, Melissa Shupe of Chapin, S. C., Chris Counas (Kathy) of Winston-Salem, N. C., Greg Shupe of Columbia, S. C. and Trysten Counas of Chapin, S. C.; and his sister Carol Counas of Lexington, S. C. He is also survived by his five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and two grand dogs.
