He was predeceased by: his parents, John Wardlaw and Lillian Corbin Wardlaw; his daughter Beverly Wardlaw; and his grandchildren, Christopher Wardlaw and Courtney Wardlaw.
He is survived by: his children, Randy Wardlaw (Debra) of Spartanburg, John Wardlaw, Jr. (Amanda) of Central and Teresa Lewis (Michael) of Pickens; his grandchildren, Brandi Tarvis, Jonathon Wardlaw, Angel Lear, John Wesley Wardlaw and Thomas Wardlaw; and his brothers, Pat and Lloyd Maxwell. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren.
