He was predeceased by: his parents, John Hagood Pope, Sr. and Inez Cook Pope Houston; his sons, Thomas Everett "Skeeter" Pope, Jr. and Richard David "Ricky" Pope, Sr.; and his siblings, Leon Pope and Bertha Alice Pope Hart.
He is survived by: his wife Cathy Bowers Pope of Brunson; his children, Annette Bowers Griswold of Brunson and Jeremy Lee Bowers of Hampton; his grandchildren, Thomas Everett Pope, III of Hampton, Summer Pope Rennow of Texas, Samantha Pope Segars of Hampton, Nicole Pope of Nixville, Richard David Pope, Jr. of Hampton, Kristina Pope Barnes of Garnett, David Cameron Pope of Greenville, Jessica Pope of Orlando, Autumn Grace Griswold of Brunson and Trenton Lee Bowers of Hampton; his brother Charles Franklin Pope, Sr. (Stella) of San Antonio, Texas; his cousins, Pippi Tuten of Varnville, Eugene McMurray of Brunson and Selena Stone of Brunson; his nephew Sammy Hart (Phyllis) of Palm Harbor, Florida; and his friends, Michelle Miller, Ned, Annadean Phillips and Dr. Luis Vega.
