He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Otis Dobson and Wilean Dobson; his son Demond Bartell; his brother Willie Dobson; his daughters, Isaaca Tyson (De'Varus), Estill, Tawanda Stephens (Clark), Ananasa Wright, Lor, Teshia Dobson, Orangeburg, Katori Wright and Gastonia; and his siblings, Oscar Dobson, Otis Dobson (Deborah), Marion Dobson (April), Bamberg, Darnell Dobson, Columbia, Val Newton (Alexander), Estill, Brunson, Myrtis Williams (Frank) and Denmark. He was also cherished by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and sympathizing friends.
