He was predeceased by: his parents, John Alexander Seaber, Sr. and Verona Legwin Seaber; his son Jim Seaber; and his sisters, Ellen Seaber and Lydia Hawthorne.

He is survived by: his wife Alta Blume Seaber; his daughters, Donna Seaber Raines (Eddie), Joan Seaber Graddick (Jimmy) and Karen Seaber Morrison (Benjie); his grandchildren, Jenny Raines, Kaitlin Loveless (Reid), Jim Graddick (Kaelah) and Jarrett Wilson (Whitney); and his great grandchildren, Griff Loveless, Gini Loveless, James Graddick and Hope Wilson.
