He was predeceased by: his parents, Sophia Schurgot and Maximillion Schurgot. He is survived by: his wife Norma Jean Schurgot; his children, Neil Schurgot (Melanie) and Pamela; his grandchildren, Kristen Recupero (Joseph, Jr.), Kevin Schurgot, Breanna Weiss (Ryan), Jennifer Torres-Mayo (Zachary) and Marisa Torres; his great grandchildren, Carolina Mayo, Penelope Mayo, Calvin Mayo, Joseph Recupero, III, Elliana Recupero, Sophia Recupero and Skye Weiss; his nieces, Donna Yanura and Diane Cook (James); and his nephew Kenneth Yanura.
