He was predeceased by: his father Herman Brandt; his wife Darlene; his siblings, Norbert Brandt, Jerome Brandt and Mary Buckley; and his brothers-in-law, Bob Groene and Walter Buckley.
He is survived by: his children, David F. Brandt (Robin) of Monroe, NC, Patrice Hewlett (Richard) of Garner, NC and Jean Barrentine (Ray) of Sparta, GA; his sister Rita Groene of Ft. Madison, Iowa; his grandchildren, Andrew Barrentine, William Barrentine, Megan Sutton (Anthony) and Ryan Hewlett; and his great grandchildren, Gemma Barrentine, Daxton Barrentine, Grayson Sutton and Camden Sutton.
