He is survived by: his wife Marie Travis Cheatham; his children, Leroy Conner of Gastonia, Shaun Travis of Blacksburg and Miranda Nelms (Joshua) of Blacksburg; his siblings, James Cheatham of Clover, Dwight Cheatham of Gastonia, Ruby Kirksey of Lincolnton, NC, Lisa Cheatham of Gastonia and Annette Cheatham of Clover; his grandchildren, Brandon Conner, Phillip Kirksey, Obadiah Nelms, Shawn Michael Gaydon, Joshua Nelms Jr. and Ariel Nelms; and his sister-in-law Flora Brown.
