With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Voncile Denton Floyd (Bishopville, South Carolina), whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Voncile Denton left this world on February 28, 2025 at the age of 81, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her parents, Herman Baum Denton and Iva Voncile Denton Alexander; her husband Cecil Larry Floyd, Sr.; and her sister Sylvia D. Davis. She is survived by: her children, Cecil Larry Floyd, Jr., Chad Everett Floyd (Angie), Denise Dunlap (Rick) and Babs Chewning (Ricky); her siblings, Johnny C. Alexander (Anita) and Dorothy Alexander (Dennis); and her grandchildren, Michael Brock Ludy (Jill), Brittany Blythe (Josh), Brooke Bradshaw (Josh) and Gavin Everett Floyd. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

“Mrs. Floyd grabbed my heart from the first day I I met her. All hospice patients would be blessed to have a family like hers. I have many times said that I wished I had met them before they needed our help. MSA Hospice lost a precious soul Friday morning. She and her family will always hold a special place in my heart as well as the heart of my staff that helped take care of her.”
