It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ernest Arthur Atkinson (Bishopville, South Carolina), who passed away on May 17, 2022, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his son Ernest Arthur "Artie" Atkinson, Jr.; and his sisters, Betty Hodge of Sumter, SC and Ada Hinson of Sumter, SC.. He is survived by: his daughter-in-law Heidi; his wife Harriette Huntley Atkinson of Bishopville, SC; his son Hal Atkinson (Heidi Klepin) of Winston-Salem, NC; and his grandson Liam Atkinson of Winston-Salem, NC..

Due to the current Covid-19 Pandemic, the family respectfully requests that guests socially distance themselves and wear masks where appropriate.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his honor to Trellis Supportive Care, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
