He was predeceased by: his parents, William Mitchell and Luella Hartley Brown; his son William "Lanny" Orlando Brown; and his sisters, Annalee Boatwright, Ruthie Cavalari, Janice Brown and Thelma Brown.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Frick Brown; his children, Wanda Hill (Jim) of Little Mountain and Phillip Brown of Batesburg; his granddaughters, Sonia Davenport (Damien), Alisha Bodie, Jessica Ponds and Rachel Fanning (Shane); his great grandchildren, Jacob Jumper (Brandi), Garrett Fanning, Tre Davenport, Jase Lewis, Shelby Fanning and Autumn Johnson; and his sisters, Louise Hartley and Lois Thomas.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. James Lutheran Church, 308 Church Street, Leesville, SC 29070.
