She was predeceased by: her father James Cecil Kneece; her daughter Lisa Dawn Wessinger; and her brothers, Warren Oliver Ludlum and Joseph Wesley Ludlum III. She is survived by: her children, Walter Y. Wessinger Jr. (Ducky) of Greenville, SC, James V. Wessinger (Noelle) of Columbia, SC and Mary W. Keels (Burnell) of Chapin, SC; and her grandsons, Jesse Keels (Carlyn), Shane Keels, Wes Wessinger (Cher) and Justin Wessinger.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Alzheimer's Association, the USO and the American Literacy Association.
