He was predeceased by: his parents, Jessie E. Lain and Lore Dyches Lain; his son Barry Lain; his grandson Brian Lain; and his sisters, Sybile Owens and Janell Masburn.
He is survived by: his wife Sybile Bodiford Lain; his daughter Ruth Abigail Piatt (Keith) of Barnwell; his brothers, David Lee Lain (Evelyn) of Barnwell and Joseph Robert "Bob" Lain of Aiken; his grandchildren, Rusty Peeples of Barnwell, Brad Lain of Colorado Springs, CO and Jessica Lain (Chris) of Barnwell; his great grandchildren, Anna Knight (SanTinno) of Neeses, Christen Workman, Mason Workman of Barnwell and Cameron Peeples of Boca Raton, FL; and his great great grandchild Lyle Knight of Neeses.
