It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Leon Kearse (Barnwell, South Carolina), who passed away on October 15, 2020, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Lizzie Mae Kearse and Farrell Duncan; and his brothers, Perry Duncan and Dennis Duncan of Columbia, SC. He is survived by: his wife Lucille O. Kearse of Blackville, SC; his sons, Rodney Kearse of Blackville, SC and Michael Kearse of Blackville, SC; his sisters, Joann Islar (Henry) of Blackville, SC, Geraldine Williams of Orangeburg, SC, Emma Orr, Gretchen Duncan of Bamberg, SC and Patricia Mays (Sammie) of Blackville, SC; his siblings-in-law, Otis Odom (Cassie) of Statesboro, GA, Geraldine Odom and Laura Smalls of Denmark, SC; and also, Johnell German (Gerald) of Hardeville, SC, Betty Williams of Aiken, SC, Eula McFadden of Blackville, SC and Robert Kearse of Blackville, SC. He is also survived by other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
