He was predeceased by: his parents, William Bessinger and Bertha Holst Bessinger; his former wife Jeanette S. Bessinger; his daughters, Sherry Bessinger and Wendy Sanders; and his siblings, Willie Jean Freemen, Evelyn Cook, John "Bubba" Bessinger and Gene Autry Bessinger.
He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Williams Bessinger; his daughters, Jeannie Pritchard (Mike) and Jill Gunnells (Nathan); his stepchildren, Chris Rutland, Randall Rutland and Julie Kinard; and his siblings, Jimmy Bessinger (Debra), Linda Bessinger Baxley and Jeanette B. Brant. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 8 step -grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
