He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Wilson, Sr. and Estelle Robinson Wilson; and his siblings, Joseph Wilson and Edna Smalls. He is survived by: his siblings, Hattie Drayton Brown, Margie Ollivierre (Daniel), Margarette Frazier (Harry), Sarah Burney, Hilda Wallace-Woods, Norma J. Mosley (James), Dorothy Sherrill (Walter) and Edward Wilson (Vergie); his niece Ethel Boykin; and his sister-in-law Glorious Wilson. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
