He is survived by: his sons, Michael Mead of Elizabethton, TN, David Mead of Monroe, NC and Jonathan Mead (Louvene) of Sharon, SC; his grandchildren, Emma Mead, John Gordon Mead and J. J. Mead; and also Bonnie Owens of Glidden, IA..
