She was predeceased by: her parents, William Algia and Phyllis Jo Eddy McKinney; her husband Billy R. Safley of Aiken, SC; her sister Constance Elaine McKinney Childress; and her great-nephew Tristan Noah Woodward.
She is survived by: her sister Maria McKinney of Aiken, SC; her niece Kimberly Woodward Boersma (Marty) of Augusta, GA; and her nephew Donnie O. Woodward Jr.. She is also survived by brother-in-law, a nephew, several great nieces, great-grand nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Connie E. Childress Scholarship Fund, UVA's College at Wise, 1 College Ave., Wise, VA 24293 and the Aiken County Animal Shelter.
