He is survived by: his wife Susan Brewer Elder; his children, Benjamin Elder (Wendy) of Florence, SC, Paul Elder (Lizzie) of Raleigh, NC and Dee Elder of Aiken; his grandchildren, Aiden Elder, Elliot Elder, Lauren Elder, Emma Grace Elder, Stella Elder, Ruth Elder and John Hampton Elder; his brother William Surrency Elder (Lillian) of Columbia; his brother-in-law Archie Hargett; and his friends, Felicia West, Tasha West, Micah James and Chaplain Wayne Bruner of Gentiva Hospice.
