He was predeceased by: his wife Raquel Alvarez (Mattos); his parents, German Alvarez and Alicia Alvarez (Torres); his daughter Maria; and his sibling Louie.
He is survived by: his son Juan Alvarez of Woonsocket; his brother Eduardo Alvarez of Puerto Rico; his grandchildren, Jason Roman, Francisco Rivera, Lissandra Cortorreal, Tiffany, Jaymes, John, Jayson and Justin Alvarez; his daughter Aileen Alvarez; and his siblings, Enrique, German, Raphael and Anna Alvarez. He is also survived by twenty-five great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
