He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Crawford and Elizabeth Crawford. He is survived by: his wife Gillian Crawford (Moore); his daughters, Lydia and Meghan Crawford of Boston; and his sisters, Kristin Edwards of Bridgton and Sandison Dion of Charlottesville, Virginia..

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Doug's name to the Watch Hill Lighthouse Keepers Association. (Watchhilllighthousekeepers.org or PO Box 1511, Westerly, RI, 02891).

“Gillian, I am truly saddened to hear of Doug's passing. You don't know me, but I like Doug are new to Piney Point as an instructor. Doug and I were in the same train the trainer class and became friends almost immediately. In fact, we were supposed to go out to dinner last Thursday, but missed each other. Even though we weren't friends for very long, he will be missed here. Doug had a great heart and everyone liked him. My sincere condolences to you and your family. Jack Andrews”
