She was predeceased by: her parents, George and Eugene. She is survived by: her husband Daniel D. Ekelund; her children, Ronald R. Bergeron, Diane M. Bergeron and Eric D. Ekelund; and her sister Doris Switzer. She is also survived by three grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Special Olympics Rhode Island, 370 George Washington Highway, Smithfield, RI 02917.
