Edmund J. Borges Jr. Obituary
It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Edmund J. Borges Jr. (Pascoag, Rhode Island), born in Providence, Rhode Island, who passed away, on April 16, 2018. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
Some people would say, " I don't know what is easier, knowing someone you love is dying or having it happen just like that. And at that time, I didn't know that answer. You don't want to see the person who brought you into this world, the person who gave you life, just leave, or suffer; hanging on to a life that is no longer the same for them. However, in my father's case, we all had the opportunity to learn more about his life. We had the opportunity to see all the sacrifices he made for us throughout the years and how strong a father can be when all he wants to do is be there and take care of his family. On April 16, 2018 the angels came for him. He passed peacefully, surrounded by all that he lived for; his family and his music. He promised me he would never stop holding my hand. I didn't let him break that promise, with his hand in mine and my hand on his chest. I felt his last heartbeat and saw him take his last breath. Also standing over him with a hand laying upon him was my mother, brother and sister. He was finally at rest, flying high and pain free; his dad waiting for him at the gate with open arms. He will be missed and loved by many. Our lives' will never be the same. We will cherish every second that we spent with him and never forget everything he taught us. I will continue to tell his story like I said I would. He wanted me to connect with those diagnosed with bladder cancer; those fighting and struggling and tell his story. He is a legend and his soul will live on. Besides his wife Kathleen, he is survived by a son John P. Borges of Pascoag; two daughters: Christina M. Borges of Putnam, CT and Tara L. Borges of Pascoag; two sisters: Donna Moniz of Somerset, MA and Karen Daggett of Brooklyn, CT and three grandchildren. Edmund's funeral services will be private at the request of the family. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his name be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
