He was predeceased by: his mother Gilda Simoes; and his stepdaughter Lisa Barbosa. He is survived by: his spouse Luiza M. DaPonte (Lacerda); his children, Kristy DaPonte, Sandra DaPonte, Daulina DaPonte, Lorena Hammond and Mario S. DaPonte; and his stepson Frank Barbosa, Jr.. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
