He was predeceased by: his parents, Manuel Bernardo and Ana Bernardo (Rita). He is survived by: his wife Maria Bernardo (Coelho); and his sisters, Clara DaFonseca and Deolinda DaFonseca. He is also survived by one brother-in-law, three sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews.
