She was predeceased by: her parents, Joao Matias and Maria Jesus Matias (Medeiros); and her brother Antonio Matias. She is survived by: her husband Jose Fernandes; her children, Anthony Fernandes (Alicia) of Tiverton and Raquel Ferreira (Jason) of Warren; her grandchildren, Taylor Fernandes and Olivia Ferreira; and her siblings, Rosario Araujo (Evaristo) of Bristol and John Matias (Laurie) of Warren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
