He was predeceased by: his parents, Edison McMeans and Elizabeth Horrell McMeans; his siblings, Redge McMeans, Muriel Richards and Faith Joost; and his siblings-in-law, Leroy Joost, Bob Carbaugh, Ken Parker, Elaine McMeans and Susie Carbaugh.
He is survived by: his wife JoAnn Strickenberger; his children, Kimberly McClement (Ronald) of Warren, Robert McMeans (Carrie) of Jamestown, NY and Jeffrey McMeans (Lisa) of Starbrick; his grandchildren, Matthew McClement (Candice), Nicole Allen (Garrett), Preston McMeans (Jenna), Sheldon McMeans and Jacob McMeans; his great grandchild Samuel McClement; his siblings, Forest McMeans (Woody) of Sheffield, Patty Briggs (Greg) of Warren, April Parker of Erie and Autumn Lieberman of Pittsburgh; and his sister-in-law Gloria Dugan (Sherry Richards) of Youngsville. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
